Routine maintenance of Rexroth hydraulic products includes all measures to maintain and restore the desired condition as well as to determine and evaluate the actual condition of the technical equipment of the system, which can be divided into the following categories.

＞ Repair (restore the ideal condition).

Safety during maintenance tasks for Rexroth hydraulic products

Note: For the sake of safety, please always observe all the following safety instructions carefully.

・Check the safety equipment regularly to see if it is working properly.

・Perform all maintenance work correctly and completely within the specified period and record the work.

・Notify all personnel before maintenance work begins.

・Wide isolation of the maintenance area before work begins.

・Notify all personnel that maintenance work is in progress by appropriate signs.

In particular, warning signs can be attached to control cabinets, main switches, actuators, and slimmer points.

If the hydraulic product must be turned off, protect it from being opened again unintentionally as follows.

・Shut down all actuators and disconnect the hydraulic unit from the main power supply at the main switch.

・Depressurize the hydraulic product (relieve pressure from all pressure accumulators).

・Protect the main switch from being opened unintentionally again.

Before performing any manual operation in Rexroth hydraulic products, be aware that

Refer to the operating instructions for all the necessary information on the components of Rexroth hydraulic products that are depressurized and those that are not automatically depressurized.

・Move all hydraulic cylinders forward to their safety end positions.

・Reduce all loads.

・Shut down all pumps.

・Mechanically support the vertical hydraulic cylinder so that it will not fall. Never perform any maintenance work on a lifted unit without external support.

・De-pressurize all accumulators in a proper manner.

・Shut off the pressure supply and protect the hydraulic product from being opened unintentionally again.

・Make sure that only authorized personnel are allowed to stay in the work area.

・Wear protective glasses, protective gloves, and safety boots.

・Allow the pressure lines and parts of the system to be opened to cool down before starting maintenance work.

・Carefully open the part that needs to be kept under pressure.

Since the check valve is located in the pressure line on the pump, the Rexroth hydraulic system may still be under pressure even if it has been disconnected from the actual pressure supply. Since the proportional valves remain in the closed position (all valves are illustrated by their basic position in the hydraulic diagram), some parts (e.g. servo-hydraulic cylinders) also continue to be pressurized.

Please observe the following.

＞ Only new interchangeable and tested components, replacement parts and original equipment quality lubricants may be approved for use/replacement.

＞ For safety reasons, it is strictly forbidden to install used and/or untested components that do not meet EU standards.

When operating hydraulic products in maintenance mode, some cases require the temporary removal of certain safety equipment and therefore require a high degree of vigilance.

Make sure that all safety equipment is properly installed and functionally tested before putting the system into (restoring) use.

・Weld, burnish or grind work on the hydraulic unit or its accessories only when approved by the local safety agency/fire brigade and when proper protective coverings are in place to prevent the entry of contaminants.

・When performing assembly work that exceeds your height, use the ladders and platforms provided by the factory operator. Do not climb any part of the system.

・Remove all tools and materials necessary for maintenance from hydraulic products.

・Always eliminate any leaks from hydraulic products immediately.

・Always notify the person concerned before (re)starting the Rexroth hydraulic product.
